Snowstorm's night visions
Bringing travel to a halt
Hunker by fireplace

5-7-5 writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem with 5-7-5 syllable count. First line has five syllables. Second line has 7. Third line has 5 again.

During a snowstorm, if you lose power, stay safe by dressing in layers for extra warmth and avoid opening your refrigerator, so you can preserve your food as long as possible. When you do cook, or if you use a generator, be aware of any fumes and potential for carbon monoxide poisoning.
If your power didn't go out, you're not completely out of the woods. There's still a storm outside! Remember the situation and limit travel. Turn your faucets to drip slowly, so your pipes won't burst. Keep your thermostat as high as possible and stay hydrated. If things take a turn for the worse, you will want to be prepared.
If you're stuck indoors and are utterly bored, we're making a case to change the way you think about your day off. Once you've set your out-of-office reply, use the day as a chance to do all the activities you're too busy for the things you once loved doing but don't get around to on the regular. Perhaps it's getting creative with an easel and paintbrush or maybe it's finally finishing that novel that's been sitting on your nightstand for months.
Wondering what to do on snow days? Stay occupied as you hunker down by the fire.
