Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
The drought is broken

My Country

by Aussie

Barren brown lands, colour of rust
Choking smoke covering sands
Wildfires eating all greenery to dust
Fear and favour joined hands

Firemen fighting till they dropped
Animals caught, turned to dust
Trees looked as if lopped
Fire storms rage, hungry lust

Monsoon rains finally came
Four months without a drop
Pitter patter turned to rain
Green grass grew from dirt atop

Exhausted men and women at rest
As rain started to wash the land
Many years it will take to be the best
Animals and crops turned to sand

Aussies pull together every day
Millions of dollars for the lost
Some farmers will walk away
Can't come back from the cost

The wildfires that ate four of our states are being put out by soaking rain. Thank you Lord for your love.
