Lord most high, hear my prayer,
Life is sometimes more than I can bear,
I am in a state of deep despair.

In You, I place my trust,
To bless, protect and keep me safe from all the evil stuff!

A world of love is what you preach,
But that seems so far beyond my simple reach.

Terror and hate scar the land,
In Your safekeeping, I place my hand.

Death and destruction are abundant,
Are words of faith just redundant?

In your path, with words of praise, I seek shelter,
Yet still you test my belief in your wonder!

Please see me for what I am,
And let your countenance shine upon me so I will not be dammed.
