He managed to get compassionate leave
as he said his mother was dying
but, as usual it wasn't the truth
as he was always lying.

He just wanted to have a couple of weeks off
from the army to have some fun
so he joined his pals in Ibiza
and didn't even visit his Mum.

He knew she was in good health
and globe trotting here and there.
She had a new boyfriend called Jack
who took her everywhere.

After a fortnight of revelry
he was on his way back.
Just as he'd almost reached the camp
he got a call from Jack.

"Sorry I've bad news, son," he said.
"Your mother is really sick.
You'd better apply for compassionate leave
and get here really quick."
