Three Dozen Gifts

by patcelaw

Three dozen
gifts, were wrapped
just for me
under the
tree that morn
long ago.

My childish
heart did sing.
Since I'd tried
to be good
all year long,
they came as
my reward.

Now I'm old
and my heart
still sings out,
as the gifts
by the tree
which mean so
much to me
are now my
family.
