A child, a day of play, and hot chocolate

Sleeping deep with dreams so sweet
Not one care unsettling as you count sheep
On the day ahead, when out of bed, just play
With both ears tuned to wise words your parents say.
Fancy the snowy day and build a towering snowman
Letting your creation, when done, wear a cape like Batman.
Angel wings in the snowy field create a sacred ground,
Keeping watch over you as you return homeward bound.
Enjoying the day of outdoor play, then an evening of sleep.

Snow falls down in a flutter,
Not landing in a muddy gutter,
Or pavements where people tread,
When Christmas arrives cheer spreads,
Fun and games are soon at hand,
Love spreading around in strands,
And people love the merry joy,
Knowing Santa comes and brings you a toy,
Everyone is all Merry so break open the lovely sherry.
