A shopping dilemma

Do you want a ten cent bag

"Do you want a ten cent bag?"
I then replied "no I do not,"
I have so many in my car
that once again I have forgot.

No plastic bags are given out
to shoppers who are on the go,
instead we must supply our own
to save the planet, you should know.

But if you fail to carry one
you now can buy them made of cloth,
of course there is a tiny charge
that may incite the shoppers wrath.

Instead I'll carry all my goods
and hope they don't drop on the ground,
I wish I was an octopus
with many arms to wrap around.

I'm sure the stores all smile with glee
when shoppers fill their trolleys high
and have too much to carry out
so then a new bag need to buy.

Their profit margins surely rise
these bags must bring a healthy gain,
when we forget to bring our own
and forced to buy, yet once again.

So next time when you go to shop
ensure a shopping bag you take
'cause if you don't the bag you buy
on you a ten cent profit make.

Once again I went shopping and forgot to take one of my many bags from the boot of my car and arrived at the counter to be asked "Do you want a 10cent bag?" As I didn't have too much I said no I will carry my good and hope I wouldn't drop any before I got to the car. Then I thought these stores must make a fortune on bags alone as like many of my friends and family have heaps of these 10 cent bags stored away, but often still forget to grab when shopping. I am sure many of you will relate to my poem.

I havent written for a while a lot going on including a semi retirement from my nursing education job so now I am on the nurse bank and an choose when and how often I will work. I actually did my first nurse bank shift in 25 years last week and loved it so I will now have more time to write a bit more.
