My Treacherous Journey
by DragonSkulls
100 Word Story Contest Winner
I had to prepare for the journey ahead and knew I would
be battling the fiercest of the elements, the crippling cold
and savage winds of winter. I had to face my fears.
I started with my thermal undergarments, then two
layers of flannel wear, followed by my wool mask,
scarf, hooded parka and fur lined gloves. I attached my
snow shoes to my boots and took my last breath
of warm air.
I left my home.
I trudged through the blinding snow for what seemed
an eternity. Then finally, at journey's end, all I retrieved
was worthless junk mail.
