500 Days--Where Are The Heroes?

by Mike Stevens

Verse:
A red-alert sun paints a black hole land,
With the sharp steel of a pen in hand
The blinding light of an angry moon
Bleaches our vision in delusion's cocoon

Pre-Chorus:

Dare to the light, like a moth to a flame,
Changed forever on this journey to insane

Verse:
His poison pen writes as history never was,
A Judas madman who screams just because
A Pied Piper leading us down the rabbit hole,
An elementary carnival barker released on parole

Pre-Chorus:
Time-warp leader tries to give us his disease,
What awful creatures do his blinded eyes see?

Chorus:
Where are the heroes to save us this day,
Who have good will, are strong and unafraid?
They vanished overnight, gone into the haze
Windsock puppets praying to his false-idol ways

Verse:
Safe behind their ramparts of the like of mind,
Untouchable, corruptible, the very worst kind.
A fever-swamp plague of pandemic destruction
At the beck and call of an ego king's instruction

Pre-Chorus:
Time-warp leader tries to give us his disease,
What awful creatures do his blinded eyes see?

Chorus:
Where are the heroes to save us this day,
Who have good will, are strong and unafraid?
They vanished overnight, gone into the haze
Windsock puppets praying to his false-idol ways
