We served by choice or by draft
We served at cost to our plans and careers
We served at the expense of our loving families
We served despite lack of appreciation or reward
We served when others, who could have, but did not
We served while defense related industries recorded profits
We served while comrades were maimed, scarred for life and killed
We served! May this service not have been in vain and may God bless America
