A Potlatch club: Constanza

Pen Down

by Chrissy710

Sometimes I wonder why I write?
my need to put words on the page
entice my readers to engage .

Letting my inner thoughts take flight
release them from the web I hold
in storage, 'till my story's told.

Upon the page within my sight
these words pour down like falling rain
with fury, great momentum gain.

To stop this urge I think I might
turn off this flood and dam the wall,
rein in this constant waterfall.

Put down my pen this very night
and never write another word;
let all my thoughts remain unheard.

Taking up the Potlatch club challenge to write a Constanza of 5 x 3 lined eight syllable stanzas
Thanks Jan for organising this club
rhyme scheme abb acc add aee aff

The first line of all stanzas can be read successively as an independent poem ( see Constanza requirements in club page)

The theme is optional I thought I might write about my lack of writing of late a phase I hope will improve

Thank to HelloKitty2013 for the image Retired Marionette ( feeling like her LOL. )

Thanks to all who read this poem
Cheers Christine
