Perfection Someday

by fayesh

If perfection is a virtue
I fall short
but not too far I hope

My tears of compassion overflow
My extended hand gifting often
My ears burn from the troubles of others
My lips withhold words that need to be said

Yet I am with flaws
My expectations of others to do as I do
to perceive the world as I view it
to taste life with the same palate as mine
I confess I expect too much
and have lost many
I must learn to teach, not preach
With humility I ask forgiveness of those
driven away by my demands

I know I am not perfect
but maybe even flawed as I am,
I can one day,
when others will not matter,
 stand perfect before God.
