God is Spirit and So Is Man

Defining the Human Soul

by Robert Zimmerman

The human life is not complete;
its meaning is not whole,
until the one that dwells within
will recognize the soul.
What is a life without a soul?
It’s animal or plant.
Can man live full without a soul?
The answer is, “He can’t.”
The image of the bodied man
is of the living God.
His spirit is the source of life.
His body’s from the sod.
So how do we identify
this thing that makes us whole?
When mind and spirit unify,
that’s what we call our soul.
