A Woman Scorned

by JLR

Rachel arrived at the office,
claiming to be a victim.
As her story began to unfold,
Rachel comes across as a vixen.

Hers was a tale of sadness and woe

as she saw that girl in the arms of her beau.

The gun, she thought, was loaded with blanks,
and to them, she was going to unleash a prank.

The detective sat listening with her eyes glistening
and was ever so intently listening
Rachel revealed she felt so forlorn
because she was the woman scorned.
