I'll Get it Done!

Everyday I have such hope of getting so much done.
I put off other things that could be much more fun.

I try to be ambitious, I try to be diligent,
but it seems that every time I *drop back fifteen and punt.

I rarely make the first down, let alone **get in the end zone.

I have such lofty plans in my head while at work all day,
'When I get home I'll get the craft room clean up under way!'

But I get distracted by Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook
Sometimes Google gets in the way. I just have to look.

Questions must be answered that could shape the world,
Like, are chimpanzee's or zebra's eyelashes curled?

And more earth shaping by far,
Can those cute, furry otters learn to drive a car?

Something more important always gets in my way.
Maybe I will just face facts, breakdown and pay,

Someone to do those things I never get to but intend,
So I can Google, Do cows have best friends?

Another funny facebook post, needed a poem.

*Drop back fifteen is a football term. If you don't make a first down, which is 10 yards, in 3 tries, you have to drop back 15 yards and punt, kick the ball to the opposing team.

**Get in the End Zone, to make a touchdown, you must get into the end zone, the ball must break the plane of the end zone and be inside the end zone pylon to be counted as a touchdown, score 6 points.

It is football season so I must use football lingo. I love football. =}
