The astounding beauty that surrounds us.

The Harvest Sunrise

the sun fills the sky with glorious colors
greeting me on this early morning stroll
it fills my heart with an unexpected joy
quickens my steps along the faded path

with the fields ready for harvest
a farmer reaps the benefits of sowing
patience produces a bountiful crop
finding the treasure hidden within a seed

adjacent to the path, squirrels in oak trees
gather food for the hard winter to come
cardinals dance from flowers to vines
searching for sustenance and grace

trees show a faint hint fall color
on the verge of their spectacular display
yesterday's treasure will grace us with beauty
in return, a bud of promise waits for spring

these are but simple blessings
given freely with love, for all to cherish
