With A Few Scares Thrown In

A Happy Halloween

by Boogienights

When pumpkins sit on doorsteps,
and a ghost crosses the floor.
When you hear a witch's cackle,
coming from the woods next door.

You know Halloween is coming,
so let's all get prepared.
Wear our favorite costumes,
and try not to get too scared.

Up and down, we'll run around,
the streets with all our friends.
Collecting treats from neighbors,
till our Halloween fun ends.

Except for the very last house,
that sits upon a hill.
Where tattered curtains flutter,
as they dust each windowsill.

A Goblin resides there,
who will eat you in a wink.
That's why the kids all stay away,
that's smart now, don't you think?

So watch out everybody,
there's no telling who you'll meet.
A scary, hairy monster,
just might wander down the street.

When you get home you'll separate
your candy into piles,
and Mom and Dad complain loud,
cause they feel they've walked for miles.

As you listen from your bedroom,
and hear creaking on the stair.
There's nothing to be scared of,
just sleep well, without a care.

I'm sure there's nothing lurking
round the corner...
OR...IS THERE?
