This work has reached the exceptional level

by LovnPeace

Today marks the eleventh year
since my beautiful daughter
passed away

The miracle is
I am still here
having survived

The pain
and void
she left behind

I feel old
and useless

I am
ever grateful
for my faith

God's strength
in me
and His wisdom

I will always miss
the amazing woman
she was

Written by me the day she died

I climbed into her hospital bed
and held her in my arms
one hand on her heart
talked about all who love her

Sang an Irish lullaby
I sang to her as a baby
I was in the middle of the Lord's Prayer
when the nurse said, "She's gone Barbara."

I told her, "No, I can still feel her."
"That is the breathing machine."
What a beautiful gift I was given
to hold her in my arms as her heart slowly stopped

I saw a small patch of fog next to her bed
in fact two and I just know someone came
and met her and helped her along to her new home
I kept telling her, "Jesus is coming to take your hand
and walk with you on the beach."

You can spend all your time there now
the place you love where your ashes will be spread in time
you fought a valiant fight my love
now it is time to rest
but, "oh, how I will miss you baby."

My belief has since changed
having studied the Bible
I now know we sleep-ergo RIP
until Jesus comes again

Sleep tight my baby
I love you

This is always a hard day for me. It wasn't an easy passing for her, or for those who loved her and miss her. She would be so proud of her sons.
