Quiet Contentment

by Dolly'sPoems

To be content, when riches tempt us so,
enticing us to want and yearn for more,
and in our heart of hearts we always know
that owning much, will not our heart restore.

The richest things in life are found in love,
connections made with others mean the most,
as valued steady friendships rank above,
all the wealth we earn or even boast.

The poorest man can forge a lasting link,
that’s worth far more than any golden crown,
as those who prize a gem stone or a mink,
are often left the loneliest in town.

Contentment is the richest prize around,
if love is in your heart, it will be found.
