His pain became intolerable.

Tragedy on Beacon Bridge

He stood on the bridge with the icy waters below. Slowly, he stepped towards the edge as snowflakes swirled through the piercing, blustering wind.

Tears slid down his burning red cheeks as he thought of his wife, who was taken from him by Cancer.

One more step, my pain will end. I have but one regret.

Suddenly, his cell phone rang. He ignored it until he saw the caller’s name. Then, he listened to her message.

“Daddy, please come home.”

Although this story is fiction, the reality is more than 39,000 suicides are committed yearly in the United States and the burden of pain it brings to their family and friends. Thus showing the need that Mental Health should play an important role in planning healthcare.
