Nowhere to Hide

I dwell within your hearts and mind,
beneath your mortal skin.
No, you shan't hide your lies from me...
for I am your own sin.

I feed your lust with tainted thoughts.
I teach you how to hate.
Impurities your eyes can't see,
I keenly implicate.

The masks you wear for all to view
so commonly are ruse.
Malevolence of who you are
does hide in veiled truths.

Your malice blends so easily,
sweet lies we fabricate.
Convince the world I hold no snares...
these wiles that I create.

You tell yourself these lies as well,
believing you are free.
Yet every conscious thought you make
shall never exclude me.

So go ahead and weep aloud,
don't keep this pain within.
Pretending can't defer these thoughts...
for I am your own sin.
