This work has reached the exceptional level
What is real love?

Selflessness

Their first response

was selflessness,

not me or mine,

but ours.

They donned themselves

in courage;

laid aside their very lives.

Men and women stepped forward

and moved as one to help,

to give aid. 

I’m forever thankful 

as I take my regular route

this morning under bluest skies

to revisit the site.

I kissed my hand

and touched it to your name. 

I brought flowers, 

just as I do every day.

I’ll not forget you, 

or your loving sacrifice.
