Hidden Truth

by Dolly'sPoems

When truth can hide behind a silent tongue,
and nothing’s said, when there is much to say,
a secret strong, kept silent, must be wrong
and words of honesty are kept at bay?

When threats to life and limb begin to rule,
the truth with power can destroy a man,
dishonesty controls, when lies are cruel,
and perpetrators praise their secret plan.

No truth can lie in dormant graves forever,
and witnesses will never sleep in peace,
as cloudy skies are grey with troubled weather,
until the heavy rain has been released.

If we can never speak of wrongs we see,
how can we hope to back integrity.
