Picnic Fun!

We're going on a picnic
and it's going to be today!
Mom and Dad told all us kids,
then we shouted out "HOORAY"!
So everyone got ready,
fifteen of us in all.
"Be careful of puddles" Mama said.
"Make sure that you don't fall".
We marched along so happily,
my family and I.
The grass was the greenest we've ever seen,
above was the bluest sky.
The park loomed in the distance,
our favorite spot picked out.
We knew good food would be there,
that's what picnics are about.
The blanket spread held sandwiches,
and chicken fried up crisp.
Potato salad, cookies, there was much too much to list.
Soon all of us were settled down,
and started in to munching.
When suddenly piercings screams
rang out, from those around us lunching.
The blanket, it was snatched up quick,
and all of us went flying.
As well as all the picnic food,
we laughed till we were crying.
The providers of our feast, it seems,
they were not so amused.
To have their picnic crashed by us,
we left, sad and bemused.
I'll bet when they all got back home,
they Tweeted out some rants!
About their picnic, quite destroyed,
by our family of ANTS!
