Tip the bucket

by judester

Oh, the life he wanted,
adventures he'd unfurl.
The bucket list, a fervent wish,
to travel 'round the world.

Find a classic muscle car,
cruise route 66.
See if what they say is true,
and try to get his kicks.

Sail a boat to Europe
travel coast to coast,
save a rescue puppy,
maybe two, or three, at most.

His bucket, one day sprung a leak,
with a trip he had not thought.
He poked a needle in his arm,
on a dirty army cot.

The Life He Almost Lived writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
