After the lonely years...

You Entered My Heart

by LisaMay

I languished.
Alone, I longed
for a love connection.
Through the passage of years
my soul was sad, lacking direction –
all my dreams had ended in tears.

Then calmly, so gently,
you entered my heart.
Your hand reached out and I felt no doubt
that this was the beginning
of a brave new start.

We touched, shared a kiss,
and yes, it was bliss!
Now you warm my whole soul
at your embracing hearth –
you led me to safety along love’s path.

We match each other in so many ways,
for a future of warmth and togetherness.
I murmur a prayer of joyful praise –
God Bless!

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a love poem. It can be humorous, romantic or spiritual.

Author's Note:
People may assume that because this poem is written in the first-person, it reflects my personal life. I am a poet with a creative imagination, so I have had to project myself out of my solo life to invent a romance. Only the first stanza is factual.
