The mass shootings in this nation were disgraceful
There were five serial murders done in eight days;
California, Texas, Ohio, Illinois...
Yes, Illinois.
Can any gunman be tasteful?

The mass shootings in this nation were disgraceful.
They brought the communities together.
They brought this nation together.
Together, we mourn the loss of innocent lives,
"'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear.".

And hundreds, thousands, millions of tears fell;
Suspect identified.
Suspects captured.
Suspect dead.
Suspects still on the loose.

Fallen tears from caring hearts can build a river;
Compassion runs deeply ---
But can that be enough
To stop the gun violence?
"It's a cold and broken Hallelujah...".
