Cottage by the Sea

As summer heat cools down during the twilight hours,
I gaze longingly upon turquoise waters
where once upon a time two lovers made plans
to sail away into eternity.

I gaze longingly upon turquoise waters,
where seagulls frolicked in sun and salty air
above a couple sipping sweet red wine.

Where once upon a time two lovers made plans
to sail the seven seas, not knowing
that Fate had made some plans of her own.

To sail away into eternity
I dream of every single night,
alone in my cottage by turquoise waters.
