Having raised GIRLS, I find the boys a challenge!

Paw-Paw Relating to Grandsons

by Reese Turner

Wouldn't begin to speak for all old men, but
Some old men have a problem relating to boys;
It's not their youth I am jealous of, or their
Health or hair. Maybe it's a little their noise...

Maybe it's a little their zest for life thus their
Fearless, reckless play causing me stress
(Because when I'm called to baby sit boys,
They get even worse! I hate that, I confess).

Two boys can't be together without tussling
Over a toy, a ball, a game or just to fight.
Whining, complaining, debating all rules,
Or the correct time to retire EVERY night!

Well, look at me, am I not complaining
Like young boys? Seems we're alike, then,
Except they don't carry these ol' life scars;
Good for them! Been there. Never again!
