Trimeric poem of 13 lines

In Kardamili, Greece

by CrystieCookie999

In the Mediterranean, near a cottage framed in stone,
bougainvillea grows like eager children, pink and sweet,
waiting for the sunset and a breeze to call them home.
Just inside a simple meal of stew with bread awaits.

Bougainvillea grows like eager children, pink and sweet,
home to birds in spring and summer, bees and butterflies.
Rushing, distant waves call out a pattern so secure.

Waiting for the sunset and a breeze to call them home,
fishermen roll up their nets and start to row to shore
trusting that their dinners are as warm as wives have planned.

Just inside a simple meal of stew with bread awaits
near a salad moist with olive oil, tomatoes—sliced.
Time with family and friends won't sell for any price.

Have never actually been to Greece, but I have seen gorgeous bougainvillea in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and southern California.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
