Is love, sweet love

What the world needs now

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW

What the world needs now, is a shove, a big shove
I'm not the only one,.... I'm thinking of!
What the Earth needs now is that love! MORE love
Show more compassion take off that boxing glove!

If we are going to survive, if we are going to thrive
We need to keep this love overflowing
If we are going to revive, to keep our world alive
It's this love and affection to fellow man we need showing

I know this is a well known song
And I have borrowed these beautiful lines
But we all must stay strong
Hatred is what one defies!

"For what the world needs now, is love sweet love"
It's just what there is...so little of!
Peace and understanding, compassion to fellow man
No one is comprehending, hate shouldn't be in our Master plan!

What the world needs now, is ENOUGH, IS ENOUGH!
Of this self destruction, it needs negating; we need love!
So lets all hold out a candle, let us hold it high!
Let's make love the handle, for its what we do belie!

So I end this little poem right here,
I end it with a plea
Let's make this love our home quite clear
Let's make this world again, so free!
