Roth the Tailor

by Jerome Goldberg

I am Roth the tailor
But I an not a sailor

I can spin a yarn
But neither mend nor darn

I can alter a cuff
But only for men who were buff

I can stich a collar
But I charge more than a dollar

I can shorten an inseam
But not challenge your esteem

I am a man of the cloth
But, alas, never called the Revered Tailor Roth
