Happy Poem Coming Right Up

Would you like to cook up a poem,
for someone whose soul needs cheer?
Please read carefully and you'll find,
all the needed ingredients here.

A line or two of KIND words,
mixed well with PRAISE that's true.
(Please don't substitute falsehoods)
The reader will see through.

Throw the word LOVE in there,
to sweeten up the plot.
Include a pinch of NATURE,
like a secret garden spot.

Sprinkle it with SUNSHINE,
and MOONLIGHT BEAMS at night.
Put in a bit of NONSENSE,
to add to it's delight.

Throw in lots of MEMORIES,
any kind will do.
Happy ones that make you glad,
some of the sad ones too.

Make sure it RHYMES, those are the best,
it tends to stick with you.
It goes down easier than the rest,
though free verse is nice too.

Then add some TEARS and a few FEARS,
just for better measure.
Soon you'll find you have stirred up,
a sumptuous word treasure.

Don't worry if the meter's off,
if I's aren't dotted, T's not crossed....
Who cares?
The best of poetry, is creating your own recipe.

Add some LAUGHTER and a little SPICE,
mix it well and then,
read it over carefully,
then read it once again.

Making sure that all the main ingredients went in!

This poetry dish will satisfy,
your emotions will not want.
You'll get filled up, I guarantee,
in my poetic restaurant.
