Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
It proved to be the best year of my life

The Year was 1955

It was 1955 when Susie entered my life
she sat in a desk in front of me, her
blonde, ponytail hair swaying forever
 
We were assigned hooks next to each
other in the cloakroom, back there we
talked and laughed about happenings
throughout the school year
 
On the last day of class, before our graduation
I leaned over, cupped her chin, she closed
her eyes, I kissed her, we’ve been together
ever since
