Look, Mom, I’m writing A, B, C,
come look at me
you take your turn
so I can learn

They’re bunching, hunching into herds
creating words
across the page
just like on stage

Wow, there’s the one that sounds like cat
imagine that
it now makes sense
here’s ball, there’s fence

Advancing onward through the year
each book is dear
the world is mine
at reading time
