Aussie road trip poem for today
Wide brown land

Hi day 4 of our Aussie road trip and
Travelling from Coonamble NSW to Lightning Ridge really highlighted to me the effects of the drought here in outback Australia. Miles and miles of dry dusty colourless paddocks no sign of life anywhere and then We passed the sign ( lines 14 and 15 ) and It made me wonder how the farmers survive amongst this desolate land.
Many do not and fall victim to suicide or just walk off their properties and I can see why.
This poem made me thankful to live in Victoria although dry at times never like what I saw today so I thought I would share this one today
I have used an image again from FS art as I am still having difficulty putting my own images onto my poems it seems just random images I have use in the past just attache to my work so unforunately I cant use the one I took to show how dry Australia countryside is
I will change this image if I find a way but in the meantime I thank cakemp55 for a lend of this image used 'rural lanscape'
I hope my words say more than the image anyway
Opal mines tomorrow so should be a much lighter note
Thanks for reading my work
Cheers Christine
