A Mountain Unmoved

by Y. M. Roger

Aaah, faith can move mountains,
Isn’t that what’s been said?
Well, I’m here to inform,
you’ve been sorely misled.

Take stock of a mountain:
rock, dirt, snow, and some trees –
A physical hurdle
that does nothing but tease.

For man has moved mountains,
either whole or in parts –
To build tunnels and roads,
subdivisions and parks.

The reality is
that it‘s faith that won’t move –
‘Tis faith that’s the mountain
when some might disapprove.

It takes faith that's solid,
unwavering and true –
Faith defies all motion
toward something taboo.

Faithful hearts are not moved
by some popular song –
Not by the media,
or the shouts of the throng.

Faith’s beliefs will hold firm
against any onslaught –
Watches friends walk away,
never counting the cost.

For it’s faith that enables
inner peace to remain,
When just one small side-step
would yield pure earthly gain.

Yes, faith is the mountain –
unmoved, it stands apart.
Hell’s forces can’t budge it…
True Faith Lives in your heart!
