Brass bands play in grassy parks,
parades strut down Main Street.
Tiny flags a~flutterering
in a balmy, summer breeze.
Frisky boys and pretty girls
get bold, cajole and tease.
Fireworks illuminate,
this land from east to west.
Celebrating freedoms,
pursuing happiness.
