It seems these days, my heirs are happy,
I can't say exactly what it is.
I've never been really popular,
I feel like sending out a truth quiz.

Are you pleased about my accomplishments?
Is it the impact of words I said?
Can you share with me why you're happy?
Are you impressed with the books I've read?

The fact is, I know without asking,
the reason isn't noble or grand.
They see that my sun is now setting,
and how they want my houses and land.

They know I can't take my stuff with me.
My best assets they hope I bequeath.
They are in for shock and amazement:
