Carousel Magic

by moongirlwriter

Carousel music, carousel magic
Don't delay, the ride is fantastic
Hurry now it's starting to move
Once they begin, they're smooth and they groove

The beckoning music fills the air
That's how you know the carousel is there
White, pink or maybe blue, almost any horse will do
But it must be perfect for magic to come true

Watch carefully as you go around
Those horses could flee for a jaunt thru town
It's almost time, give your arm a s-t-r-e-t-c-h
And if you're successful, a brass ring you'll catch

The horses they trod faster and faster
The music, the wind----this COULD spell disaster!
But alas the music, it begins to slow
Those galloping horses, we do love them so

But once the carousel has come to a stop
The magic has ended and it's time to get off

a carousel contest entry

There is something about the carousel. . . first its the music, then I see those beautifully carved horses. The fun of picking one out to ride, it just always has to be one on the outside (so I can get a brass ring of course). For a minute or two, I've left my senses and flown away with those magical horses.
