Working Man

by justjo66

The man in the flannel shirt
works hard every day
His skin is tanned
Muscles firm with rough hands

He rides miles to work
to sweat or freeze
He's not afraid of the height
nor the weight of the load.

Day in and out he keeps his nose
to the grind
To make a living for his wife and kids
No need to complain

Weekends he gets a little loose
Barroom pool and beers
Old friends with same old jokes
It's a hard life but it's his.

God bless the working man.
