A sad one.

by Maria Jose Garcia

The hospital room was quiet and dark. It smelled of disinfectant and sweat.

The body on the bed was still, as if overcome by a deep sleep.

He looked extremely sad and very tired. Older than before...

I wanted to hug my husband and comfort him, but my newly-acquired ghostly form stopped me from doing so.
