an 80 word story
Birthday girl
by judester
David gently led his fiancee into their candlelit apartment with the penthouse view.
"Just wait here one minute for your surprise." He softly kissed the blindfold on her eyes.
She could hear his footsteps down the hall to the kitchen. She breathed a sigh of relief and kicked off her shoes.
"Thank God no lame surprise party with our friends tonight. They are starting to bore me. Seriously."
The muffled cough from behind the couch was her first surprise.
