Impossible Love Thrives

by Dolly'sPoems

I ask myself why love will never wend,
though scorn will rear and shake me all about;
yet on my persecutor I depend,
and drawn to please, as my love is devout.

This love with blinded eyes, as it can’t see,
my senses smell sweet roses without thorns,
the road to heaven’s strewn with company
of someone who has caused so many storms.

They say that truest love is never smooth,
and hearts withstand the grief of tribulation,
to stay with thee accepting harsh home truths,
this tantalising torment breeds temptation.

As you and I are destined to be one,
no matter how much angst we come upon.
