A Sum of the Parts

My hair is red,
my eyes blue-green,
I'm generally nice,
but I can get mean.

I've no alacrity
or tolerance for
schemers or whiners.
(I find them a bore.)

I believe in hard work,
in doing my best,
and protecting my loved ones
with great zeal and zest.

G-d gave me humor
and then He bestowed
many chances to need it.
(Oh yes, quite the load!)

I'm happy and healthy
and grateful each day
that writing fun poems
is how I can play.
