“Honey, I wrote a poem about us for class, would you read it?” asked Jules, handing Steve her iPad.
“Yes, babe, of course.”
He sits down, reads the poem, then hands back the iPad.
“Jules, I’m sorry. It just didn’t speak to me.”
“Well, you better get used to that!

Write a story of 50 words. not including the title. Any subject accepted. Must be exactly 50 words.



A lighthearted lampoon on how writers (or artists in general) are sometimes taken aback by people who don't "get" their work...especially when it's personal, as in this piece. I suspect Jules will offer up a scathing rewrite of their relationship poem.
