Beauty: Old vs New

by sunnilicious

How to love the seed that would grow into a tree?
I visualize the tree that fruited the seeds
as I roam through the garden barefoot and carefree
in a flowy flaxseed dress ornate with bright beads.
The gardenia garden attracts too many bugs;
A hobbyist would root seedlings from cherry fruit
and watch it grow stronger through the years to bear hugs,
bringing abundance as the years pass with great roots.
An old way that is not always acceptable
because modern ways seem easier and faster;
Those grocery store cherries are fashionable
and cherry wine brings that charmer the right answer.
Thinking smart lets us spring forward with the old ways,
and still enjoy some of the trends that deserve praise.
