it is truly a surprise
that there seems no one
to review my poem
because I assume


of the fear that they see in it
themselves so clearly
have I gone too far
have I not gone far enough


is the rim of the edge of pain
the alarm & panic of destruction
is it really that close
& is there an honest retribution


we often hear it said
that the truth hurts
& it is explained away that
we just simply don't want to hear it


I definitely differ on that score
the truth doesn't hurt it's the gestalt
that it causes to gyrate into an
awakening that is what seems to prick


the ego inflating-balloon of pride
yes this resistance this protest this
well you see that the truth cleanses & allows
the oozing of the puss of pride to air & to dry-out
