My Guardian

I watched them trap the dragon in their snares.
The kingdom tied and bound the hapless beast.
It meant no harm nor dread to their affairs.
They vowed to have it dead before released.

I filled their lungs with poisoned spells of mist.
I killed their knights then freed the beast its chains.
My dragon, one of few I know exists,
now guards the only elf that still remains.
