Journey to Nowhere

by Catmusings

When I'm sleeping, my journeys start
Whether I'm ready or not,
I drift away and I depart
A first class trip it's not,

Often I end up lost and alone
Trying to find my way home,
I have no money, no car or phone
In a Nowhereland I roam

I'm upset and I start to cry
No one even cares,
They ignore me and drive on by
With their cold, blank stares,

Finally someone stops their car
They offer me a ride,
They ask me if I'm going far
I eagerly get inside,

Before I know it, we're speeding along
The car is out of control,
I have a feeling something's wrong
Then the car starts to roll,

The car does a big flip in the dirt
The engine makes a huge roar,
I hurl through the air, but don't get hurt
Now I'm all alone once more,

I let out a stifled scream
It comes out like a peep,
Relieved that it was just a dream
I drift on back to sleep.

Rhyme writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
When I am sleeping, my journeys start.

I often get dreams like this where I'm lost and alone and no one wants to help or they ignore me. If something bad happens like this accident, I am jolted awake and then it's such a relief to realize it was only a dream.

Definitely not the kind of dream vacation I'd like to take!
